Stunning Church in Bank

About this location

A beautiful church, located in Bank, is a hidden gem in the city.

It has been described as one of the ten most important buildings in England. The main space is crowned by the first dome to be built in the UK.

The interior, which was substantially reordered in the 1980s, is focused around a central stone altar, carved by Henry Moore in travertine marble which stands on a beautiful white marble floor. The circular pews are removable.

Below the church is a small crypt with brick arches which was the birthplace of The Samaritans.
